vineyard
Planted in 1996, the Nine One Six vineyard lies at the northern edge of the Yarra Valley, a region celebrated for its cool-climate Pinot Noir. The vines — MV6 clone — are rooted in grey loam soils, producing fruit of natural balance and fine structure.
Positioned at the end of the Steels Creek Valley, where the Great Dividing Range tapers into rolling foothills, the site enjoys a distinctive micro-climate: cool nights, gentle airflows, and long, even ripening conditions. This harmony of soil, site, and season yields Pinot Noir that is bright, precise, and unmistakably expressive of its place.
